Anger Management Groups & Coaching
Who can benefit from anger management groups? We offer adolescent and adult groups to individuals who want to learn specific tools to manage their anger and stress. Some individuals have anger outbursts (e.g., lashing out at others or damaging property) that are clearly a problem to those around them, while others express anger in more indirect, subtle ways, characterized by sarcasm, manipulation or resistance. Still others internalize their frustration and resentment, which often leads to emotional and physical illness. There’s a large body of research showing that anger is very destructive to one’s health and relationships.
At Orenstein Solutions, we offer group programs to help individuals deal with anger and stress management issues. Our group runs for eight weeks, with each session lasting 60 minutes. Participants will learn stress management and relationship building skills in order to eliminate chronic tension, resentment, and anger outbursts.
Our group facilitators are licensed psychologists with certification, training and experience leading anger management groups. Our program is based upon the Century Anger Management Program. Our group leaders present the workshop information in a very concrete, organized manner, and incorporate thought provoking, practical exercises.
Our anger management groups are organized around eight core skills for managing anger and helping you gain control over your life. In this group, participants will learn practical guidelines and tools to help deal with anger at work and at home. We also offer this program in an individualized coaching format The eight tools include:
- The Stress Response: how stress affects us physically and emotionally, how stress and anger often co-exist, finding ways to manage stress.
- Developing Empathy: Being able to relate to others in a meaningful way, gaining patience and understanding of Others
- Decreasing Reactivity: Finding the Right Response at the Right Time, improving judgment by slowing down and making better decisions
- Changing Your Internal Dialogue: Looking at internal dialogues, challenging negative thinking, developing optimism
- Assertive Communication: Effectively expressing your opinions, needs and wants
- Adjusting Your Expectations: Setting a better baseline for judging people or situations more realistically
- Learning The Art of Forgiveness: Letting go of emotional hurts and grudges

Upon completion of the program, group members will receive a letter verifying completion of the program that can be provided to HR directors, employers or the court system.
